PRD first drafts are gravel - meant to be thrown away

Situation

Get product to understand that the first iteration of a PRD exists to be thrown away. Its gravel, not precious. Engineering questions should come fast and furious, and the document should go through massive churn. Pride of authorship must be eliminated.

Reasoning

Pride of authorship creates defensiveness when PRDs are questioned. If everyone agrees the first draft is meant to be thrown away, feedback becomes collaborative iteration rather than criticism. This also means engineering shouldnt treat written PRDs as somehow real or final.

Product managers get defensive when their PRDs are questioned. Brady has pride of authorship. Max tried to limit PRDs to two pages as arbitrary constraint to force simplicity. Peter wants both sides to let go of the idea that written equals real.
