Keep Stratum out of the Core42 IRIS deployment - take the win we have; Stratum can go into Grenoble
Situation
Adam Jackson proposed adding Stratum to the Core42 IRIS deal. Peter refused: deploy what is already agreed, do not reopen the contract, and let Stratum go into Grenoble when that happens.
Reasoning
IRIS is still fighting for the right to deploy what is already agreed, so asking for more scope reopens every discussion. The first large Stratum deployment is guaranteed to have problems and should not land on a stalled, visible G42 install where it would make other G42 deals harder. Stratum and Fuzzball are being rearchitected together, so a large deployment now would bake in a shape that is about to change.
Additional Context
Bjorn told the Grenoble team the same morning that the message is Stratum is ready to go, no hedging. Peter treats ready to sell and ready to deploy into a delivering deal as different questions.
Observed Evidence
Take the win that we have. / Asking to add stratum will reopen every discussion. / The first large deployment of stratum is guaranteed to have problems. I do not want that to make other g42 deals harder. / Rearchitecting how stratum and fuzzball work together - do not bake in a large deployment that is then different. / Comfortable with it going into Grenoble when that happens.

slack
Adam - take the win that we have. We are struggling just to get the right to deploy what is already agreed. Asking to add stratum will reopen every discussion.
