Qualcomm prototype - present it without letting a days-old prototype lock Engineering architecture

October 16, 2026 at 3:03 PMtechnicalmedium

Situation

Before the Qualcomm presentation Peter set a condition for Jonathon Anderson: present the prototype in a way that leaves Engineering free to rearchitect; a prototype built over a few days must not paint CIQ into corners.

Reasoning

A demo sets customer expectations about how the product works; if Qualcomm anchors on prototype architecture, rearchitecting later reads as regression or a broken promise. Protects the prototyping culture from the other side - build fast without the fast build becoming the spec. Same family as no outward claims before Engineering is confident.

Additional Context

slack

leave the option for engineering to rearchitect things. I do not want a prototype made over a few days to paint us into any corners.
